I love the Basic Cheese Pizza at Borner Farm Project. They do not hold back on the cheese, that’s for sure. This month they were serving up a few flavors we recognized from May and they added a pepperoni pizza with some semi hot peppers. I really enjoyed every slice that I had.
There were several large groups celebrating events at the farm and the wait for pizza was long. When I think about it, the wait here has always been long, until it gets close to 8pm. That is valuable information, because if you show up hungry (and most of us did) it can be quite difficult to wait the hour or more for pizza. I wasn’t as diligent as I usually am about bringing snacks. The hungriest of us were forced to eat the seasonal rhubarb crisp dessert first. Dessert first is definitely not a bad thing, but I do wish I had come with some sort of snack.
We took some time to stroll around the farm and play on the dirt pile. A few people in our group met for the first time. We found plenty of things to talk about while we waited patiently for our pizzas.
It was a very family friendly evening at the farm. Children of a wide range of ages were freely roaming the area. The chickens were safely protected in their coop area. The bugs weren’t too bad. I wore the pizza hat my mom gave me for my birthday and it was very well received. And, as always, the pizza was delicious. The wait was long, but worth it. At the end of the night, we were treated to an amazing sunset. Thank you, again, Borner Farm Project.
