Pizza Farm Season 2018

Pizza Farm Season 2018

The sun is rising earlier and setting just a little later.  The co-ops have been selling seeds and are bringing in potting soil.  I’ve been through March and April enough times to know that winter is not over and to know that spring weather includes literally everything.  But there is no denying that spring is in the air and for me that means Pizza Farm 2018 season is almost within reach.  I have been online checking the Pizza Farm pages and getting my information updated. Check out the 2018 Calendar and my Pizza Farm Map.  These resources are just a guide.  Always check the Farm’s website to make sure they are open and serving.

A couple farms have adjusted their hours (including that A to Z will be opening later in the season) and many have not yet announced their opening nights.  On the other hand, some have everything updated and are as ready to go as I am. Two Pony Gardens has even sold out of some of their Spring events!  By late April, there are a few options to eat pizza on the farm, notably Stoney Acres and a special event at Squash Blossom.  Once May arrives, more and more will be opening, and through June, July, and August things will be in full Pizza Farm swing.

My Pizza Farm season will be very different this year.  I am looking into taking two to three longer Pizza Farm trips, similar to last year’s Pizza Farm camping trip on July 27, 28, 29, and 30th of 2017.  A to Z is always my highest priority and I am really looking forward to visiting some of the Pizza Farms I haven’t had a chance to see yet including Luna Valley, DreamAcres, Community Groundworks Troy Farm, and Squash Blossom.  I will be planning these trips on Last Night’s Pizza Box Facebook Page, so follow there for updates and events.  It has been great eating pizza in Chicago, but I am excited to get out to the farms.
