In the purest sense, a Pizza Farm grows everything needed to make a pizza, from the flour to the cheese to the sauce and all the toppings including any meat. After a bit of research and helpful tips from people who know I love pizza farms, I have identified places that qualify as Pizza Farms to various degrees all across this country. The Pizza Farms listed below share some of the most important values behind the Pizza Farm concept including a focus on community, local food, and enjoying a good pizza while sitting outside with a beautiful country backdrop. Most of them are in the midwest – for a great list, check out The Midwestival – and through my personal travels I have found Pizza Farm type places from Eugene, Oregon to upstate New York. Use the map above to find a link to a Pizza Farm near you or read below for a link to each farm, an approximate Driving Time from Minneapolis (DTM), current days that they serve pizza, and some of our favorite things or reasons we are excited about each place.
- A to Z Produce and Bakery in Stockholm, Wisconsin. DTM – 1.5 hrs
Tuesday evenings, May – October. Sign up for their email list and you can also learn of the Winter Pizza Events about one Saturday a month in the off season.
Highlights: Everything! This Pizza Farm has it all – a beautiful farm, great pizza, friendly people, farm animals, and years of experience bringing A to Z to the well-deserved and elevated status of our number one favorite.
Our suggestions: If you can get to Stockholm by 5:00pm, check out the Stockholm Pie Company right off the Great River Road. Also, come during the non-peak months for a quieter experience and enjoy the full range of seasonal beauty and produce. - Blossom Hill Orchard & Farm in Preston, Minnesota. DTM – 2 hrs
I don’t know too much about this place, but, as always, I am excited to learn more. - Borner Farm Project in Prescott, Wisconsin. DTM – 35 minutes.

2018 dates TBA
What we’ve heard: Amstutz Family Farm provides youth summer camps and opportunities for families to stay on the farm. They also have a pizza night that I am curious to check out! - Cress Spring Bakery in Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, outside Madison. DTM – 4 hrs
Wednesday evenings, May – October.
Highlights: Great pizza, plenty of local beer, appetizers, and desserts in one of the most beautiful settings we’ve come across in our Pizza Farm travels.
Our Suggestions: Expect to wait in line or Call Ahead if you can’t arrive early. Also be prepared to walk a ways if you get stuck in the overflow parking lot. - Dream Acres in Wykoff, Minnesota. DTM – 2 hrs
Fridays, June – September.
What we’ve heard: All vegetarian pizzas made with seasonal produce and a theater onsite to provide entertainment. Dream Acres will also be hosting a food related fun event called the Picnic Operetta run by Mixed Precipitation. Check out Dream Acres Theater Page for other events held on the farm.
Our suggestions: bring your own beverages and since you are in Minnesota, that can include alcohol - The Food Building in Northeast Minneapolis. DTM – N/A
Last year the Food Building had a Pizza Farm night about one Thursday each month for the summer and early fall. Lone Grazer, the provider of cheese, closed up shop, but there is hope that Red Table and Bakers Field will be able to find another cheese partner and continue making their delicious pizza. - Geyer’s Oven in Oxford, Iowa. Delivery every night between 5pm – 10pm in the Saratoga Springs area.
Highlights: The 3 day slow-fermented sour dough crust is amazing. 9 Miles East has a great mission similar to many of the midwest Pizza Farms, although they had never heard of a Pizza Farm before my mother called them up and told them about her Pizza Farm-obsessed daughter. The website can tell you where all the ingredients come from. Even though they don’t typically feed people on the farm, they allowed my family to hang out and enjoy our dinner on site. - North Star Homestead Farms or Farmstead Creamery & Cafe in Hayward, Wisconsin. DTM – 3 hrs
Saturdays, mid-May – early October and Thursdays, mid-June – August.
Highlights: The hummingbird garden, the celebrity animals, the delicious spelt crust, and sheep’s milk gelato, developed by co-owner Kara with the help of an Italian gelato master.
Our suggestions: Take a minute to talk to with any of the 4 people that work at Farmstead Creamery & Cafe to learn about the sustainability and the balanced systems of this farm. They are doing some really cool work. - Pleasant Grove Pizza in Waseca, Minnesota. DTM – 1 hr
Sundays, May – October and Thursdays, June – September

Pizza ingredients are kept as local as possible and the crust, sauce, and sausage are made in-house. - Sawmill Pizza & Brew Shed in Clear Lake, Wisconsin. DTM – 1.25 hr
Sundays, June into October.

Sundays, June – September.
What we’ve heard: Another Midwestival find, this pizza farm takes orders online. Based on their website, they look like a farm with a beautiful mission to create community and provide healthy, sustainable food. - The Stone Barn in Nelson, Wisconsin. DTM – 1.75 hr
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, mid May through October 1.
Highlights: Extra thin crust pizza, almost more like a flatbread, with a fun menu of original pizzas. The seating area is beautiful and you almost feel like you are somewhere in Italy.
Our suggestions: Don’t make the same mistake we did and leave yourself some room for the gelato served as dessert. - Stone Wall Pizza in Wellman, Iowa. DTM – 4.75 hrs
Most Fridays, May – October. Check the website for occasional closings.
What we’ve heard: This is definitely Pizza on a farm, but I don’t think the ingredients necessarily come from the farm. We will have to go and check it out to get more information about how it works. - Stoney Acres Farm in Athens, Wisconsin. DTM – 2.75 hrs
Fridays and Saturdays, April 20 to November 3.
Highlights: Tasty pizzas come on a pizza pan and there is no need to use a box if you don’t need one. Even at a busy time, you don’t have much of a wait. Three pizza ovens and a group of hardworking staff know how to get ’em in and get ’em out.
Our suggestions: Check out the sign posted by the ordering table to see how the pizzas are made and where all the ingredients come from. - Suncrest Garden Farms in Cochrane, Wisconsin. DTM – 2.25 hrs

What we’ve heard: A lovely farm with delicious pizza. Each weekend has a theme and often some additional entertainment. The farm grows vegetables and dahlias, so you can enjoy eating and looking at the crops.
Our suggestions: Sign up for the email list to get the Pizza Night dates as they are announced. Events require a ticket and many sell out, so check the website before you head out. - Whitefeather Organics in Custer, Wisconsin. DTM – 3 hrs
Select Saturdays, May into October. Check the calendar for exact dates.
What we’ve heard: A friend said this is great! - Women’s Environmental Institute in North Branch, Minnesota. DTM – 1 hr
Select Wednesdays, June – August.
Highlights: A wonderful organic farm with a mission. We were lucky to receive a tour from the director and learn about the projects and initiatives to help farmers and the community by increasing the accessibility of nutritious food. The pizza and the salad were both fantastic and everyone was very welcoming and friendly.
Our suggestions: Be prepared for a dusty dirt road and the turn off to the driveway is marked with a sign that is set just a little farther back than we expected.
